Hello,

Thank you for your interest in No Cooties.  My name is Hope Vaughan and I am the creator of No Cooties Travel Spray.  I would like to tell you a bit about myself and the conception of No Cooties.

I have been working with essentials oils for the past 15 years in my health and beauty business. I am a licensed Esthetician.  I am also trained and certified in the practice of Reiki, Iridology, Education Kinesiology, herbs and essential oils.

In my Practice I have been addressing skin care, body care, and moods with essential oil blends.  Initially, I was giving my "don't get sick on flights" essential oil blend to clients, friends and family as gifts.  I was receiving very positive reports and people started requesting it for their friends and family.

At the time, I was also working part time in a very popular retail store that sold the best of everything to pamper and create comfort.  It was my job to educate the customer about ingredients in the products and to reveal the many applications of essential oils. I had seen so many products come and go through the store. That retail experience helped me realize that packaging and the name of the product were as important as the product. My travel spray is a medicinal product and I decided to make it, also, fun and gift able.

The testing done by Weber State University, to determine which oils were most effective against airborne bacteria, and my knowledge of essential oils, made it easy for me to determine which oils would provide protection, respiratory support, calming, and anti allergenic properties.

I was able to test market No Cooties and work out the bugs (pun intended) in that retail environment. (thanks to the gracious permission of the owner)

No Cooties was a hit and now it is available to you.  No Cooties has been recommended by Travel and Leisure, In Style, Modern Bride, The New York Times, L.A. Times West Magazine and numerous publications across the country.  No Cooties is refreshing and it works

Use it on the flight, in the office, in schools, hospital visits, hotel rooms, bathrooms, the home, the gym...any where germs dwell.

No Cooties will purify the air you breathe.

It has been my intent in my life and my business to create higher awareness of natural remedies and to create well being.

I trust No Cooties will serve this intent.

To you health,

Hope Vaughan

" A jam packed airplane can be a germophobe's nightmare.  As if the prospect of a sniffling, coughing seatmate wasn't traumatic enough, some people worry about the cleanliness of the pillows, fearing that they carry innumerable specks of drool from earlier  passengers.  And, on an airplane, there's no way to step outside for a spot of fresh air.

When Hope Vaughan started working at Planet Blue in Malibu, Calif., she often overheard customers complaining about air travel's aftermath.  "People would say "I just came back from so and so, and I got really sick from the flight,' "said Vaughan, a licensed esthetician.

Realizing that she, too, had felt flu ridden after a trip, she concocted a solution intended to ward off plane-dwelling germs—one she now sells as No Cooties Travel Spray.  It is available at stores nationwide and online.

No Cooties, which Vaughan manufactures in her Long Beach, Calif., home, consists of what estheticians call essential oils, the steam-distilled essences of plants or flowers.  Based on principles of aromatherapy,  Vaughan says the spray's three oils—lavender spike, ravensara and thyme linalool - have antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties.  The No Cooties marketing literature says that airplane passengers need to spirtz themselves only a few times to ensure protection against illness.

Before starting the brand in October 2001, Vaughan said, she found that the product was effective when used by friends and co-workers.  Aware that skeptics would be wary of No Cooties' medicinal claims, she found a Weber State University study, published in the Journal of Essential Oil Research in 2001, that identified lavender, ravensara, and thyme as effective defenses against microbes.

But she says she is confident that No Cooties works as advertised.  " I wouldn't put it out there if it didn't," she said.  " My integrity is at stake."

Flight 001, a travel goods seller in New York, has sold out of No Cooties at its Greenwich Village store, but a few bottles remain at its shop at Henri Bendels.

Vaughan doesn't want to market No Cooties only to air travelers.  She also says it is ideal for carpools and for other situations in which people may inadvertently swap germs.

Testimonials

Thank you No Cooties!

I have terrible allergies and never fly or stay in a hotel room without my medication. I was on a 5-hour flight to Miami and thought I had put my medication in my purse, but I had not and I was in a panic. When I spoke to you on the phone concerned about having allergies and using No Cooties you said that one of the oils in the blend was an anti allergenic and I should not have a problem.

Well, I am writing to tell you that I used No Cooties while waiting for take off and then periodically during the flight and my allergies did not kick in. My next test was my hotel room, which usually always gives me a problem. I sprayed the room and the bedding and kept it by my bed in case I needed relief during the night (which I did). It really got me through until I could refill my prescription.

Thanks Again. I am so grateful.

Dear No Cooties,

I am a kindergarten teacher and received No Cooties as a gift. I was catching every cold that came down the pike. Since I have been using No cooties I have not gotten sick (almost a year). I keep it on my desk. I spray my face, my hands, and the room. It smells so good. This is the gift that keeps on giving.

Thank You,

M’liss / Huntington Beach

Dear No Cooties,

I love your product! My whole family uses it. And it has become my favorite gift to give. I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, but No Cooties actually lifts my spirit. Your oil blend is great!

Dear Hope,

I placed my order with you over the phone. I am so happy my computer would not send my order through and I was able to talk directly to you.

Thank you for your time, information and inspiration.

I truly wish you all success. You are appropriately named and so is your product.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Rubin / Florida

Who knew? I purchased your product as a gift from Planet Blue in Malibu. The name just cracked me up and I had the perfect person to give it to just for fun. My friend couldn't say enough about it. It actually works!  Good job!

Pleasantly surprised,

Stewart / Malibu

No Cooties,

I first found your product in Henri Bendel, after reading the wonderful write up in the New York Times. You have a very innovative product. It's not only fun to give as a gift, but it is extremely effective. I actually bought it as a gift for a gift exchange at our office.  The person who received it never brought it home and we all started using it around the office.  I ended up buying another one so I could take it on the subway with me.  It's great.

Thank you,

Arlene / New York

What a breath of fresh air!  We were driving across country from Ohio and boy some of those gas station bathrooms are pretty scary.  I was so happy to have No Cooties with me.  I would actually walk in spraying it before me and sprayed myself coming out.  No Cooties is a great arsenal in my war against germs.  (I have been accused of being a tad germaphobic)  Anyway, thanks.
